It was a very fun night of racing for the whole team. The #9m Marlon Jones Sprint Car Qualified well and had a small problem in the heat race, but finish good enough to start 11th in the ‘A’ Main. In the 30 lap race Marlon moved up to 7th place and was a few feet of passing the #13 for 6th. We were definitely one of the fastest cars on the track.
This was a Great way to finish the season. ended up 9th in total points for the year and only 1point out 8th and 3 points out of 7th, we did miss 1 race this year too.
The Bmod of Darren Wendt #9d was in too bad of condition the get ready for race, Darren ended up 15th in points at Huset’s.
The #9 of Aaron Wendt 360 Sprint Car ended up well at Black Hills Speedway Finished in 2nd in points for the year!
Good night for the Empire Team! #9m Marlon Jones Sprint Car won the heat race and Qualified well earlier. Then in the A Main went from 16th to 10th for a top 10 finish in the All Star race…. Good JOB !!!
Darren #9d B MOD Raced to a top 10 finish in the A Main as well! I beleive he got 8th. Good Job!!
All in All a fun good night…. We hope Sunday is as well or better!!
Yes, Saturday at I-90 Speedway #9d Darren Wendt won his first heat race since starting his driving career. Darren and the crew were very excited to see the jump forward this week! Darren also was running in 3rd in the A Main with 5 laps left when he was hit in the rear and forced off the track, start him in the rear. We had a fun night of racing anyway!
#9m Marlon Jones raced the Aaron Wendt 360 Sprint Car also. Started 18th in the A Main and was on the move in 7th place when he was involved in a turn 4 wreck with 2 laps left. Looked like a top 5 coming for night but was cut short.
Sunday at Huset’s Speedway Both cars have top 10 finish!!
#9m 410 Marlon Jones won his heat race and broke the bolts off the rear inboard brakes coming into the pits. This forced us to replace the the rear end before the A main. With many changes Marlon was able to get 10th in the A main.
#9d Darren Wendt started last in heat and was moving fast but could not clear the next driver in a clean fashion so ended last.
Darren raced the A main and moved up from last to 10th place in a rough banging race where the Mods were hitting each other a lot.
Update June 13, 2009
Another interesting night at Black Hills Speedway. Aaron finished third in his heat race as Clint Anderson hit the wall out of turn 2 due to terrible track conditions due to much rain and rush job of track preparation. Clint’s car was completely totalled and never even got upside down! Aaron began the feature inside second row when Danny Mercy #17 lost control out of turn 2 and impelled the wall. Restart Aaron moved to poll and the race resumed! Jess Beckett pulled out front as Aaron was close behind, Sturgis driver, DJ Brink pulled into third as Aaron raced around Becket to take the lead. With three laps left in the race an apparent large rock hit the radiator of Aarons car as smoke and steam began to fill the field, DJ passes Aaron on the high side to take the win as Aaron finished second for two nights running. Great Job Aaron!
The motor did not seem to get too hot due to the coolant problem and we presently are re- squaring the car and completely going through the car this week due to the extreme ruts that shook everything loose.
We will be ready for this Friday night as the forecast seems greatly favorable!

I’m writing this at 2:54 AM Saturday morning, we just got home from a very exciting night at the speedway, Last week as you know Aaron made a 3rd place feature, and tonite, he lapped the field three times to place 2nd in the Feature! He has really been focusing on his entries and exits trying to become smoother. He passed cars on the high side at the bottom and you will even see on the video link on Youtube where he slices right between two cars coming out of turn 4! This kid was the talk of the track tonight, the announcer broad casted a lap by lap coverage of Aaron all the way to the checkered flag. The fans stood to there feet as they cheered for the youngest driver on the track! He truly is rapidly gaining a large fan base!
It is working Great!

We raced the #9d B MOD tonight and did ok in the heat finishing 5th. We started on the poll in the A Main and the car was set up well and Darren was really driving well when a yellow flag was thrown, His radio was not working right as it comes out and could not hear clearly and was DQed and had to pull off track. Darren was very upset, but it is a safety issue. We will get them monday!!
The #9m and #9d will be there Monday Night 5-25-09 !!!!
We ran the #9m 410 sprint car tonight and was really getting around the track well in the A MAIN when a barrel (yes Barrel) was hit and went in front of our car and Marlon had to hit it . We went from 11th to 9th at that point, then passed more cars moving to 5th when the right front tie-rod broke and we hit two more Barrels! That ended our night, but we had fun watching Marlon move through the pack of fast cars. The car needed some major work and did not race Sunday at Huset’s.
Great night for #9 Aaron Wendt in his 360 Sprint Car. He raced to 3rd in the Heat Race and 3rd place in the ‘A’ MIAN. Great job!! Aaron was holding 2nd place till a Yellow re-start where He lost 2nd and held on for 3rd by a straight away.
Last week Aaron ran 6th in the ‘A’ Main for his first race in a Sprint car at Black Hills Speedway! Looks like he is progressing well moving from 6th to 3rd this week! How about 1st next week!!
A very busy day with Darrens Graduation and Party. Then off to the races with both cars ready for action.
The #9d Mod of Darrens was running great and handling well tonight when in the A Main he was hit in the rear and hit the berm, handled it ok and then car stopped in the next turn. Darren said it acted like it ran out of gas. It was a ignition wire that was forced loose after the hit and the car is ok, but that ended his night. He is excited that he was able to race well and will ready next week.
A very dry track had it in for our #9m Marlon Jones Sprint car tonight after making big changes after the Heat Race we could not even get a chance to use it when the #33 spun out in front of Marlon and almost stopped in time but still hit hard enough to wreck some bars and changes were not fast enough to make it back in the race. We will get-em next time!!
